That is indeed a large mat! I have only seen small domestic mats sold in Auckland, imported mainly from Samoa. I know someone in Auckland who might be able to find something for you. I am guessing that some of the Polynesian churches use such large mats, or you could joining a number of smaller mats together into one mat, which is probably how very large mats are made, as are sails.
As far as I know, Pandanus is not part of the natural flora of Easter Island. Is it common on the island today? Around settlements?

ps I have some beautiful Indonesian Pandanus mats (individual sleeping mats) that I used in an exhibition here in Japan, at the National Museum of Ethnology. I could give you the contact details for the person who helped me obtain them from a remote village in Flores.
